Our sections
Legal issues that fall under this section include employment contracts, dismissals, working conditions and collective labour agreements. Questions about social benefits also fall under this section. With 13 members, Labour Law and Social Security is the largest section. This is necessary because of the number of legal issues dealt with during the telephone consultations and walk-in consultations.
You can contact the Consumer Law section for, among other things, questions about purchase agreements, dissolution and annulment, general terms and conditions, warranties, internet purchases, collection agencies, insurance, product liability or compensation for injuries caused, for example, by a traffic accident, a work-related accident or a medical error, and questions about privacy and the General Data Protection Regulation.
Most questions asked about Family Law are about divorce, child support, and visitation arrangements involving children. You may also ask questions about inheritance law, name law, acknowledgment or adoption.
The majority of questions in this section are about criminal law: penalty orders, interrogation and traffic law. We also answer questions about residence permits, the Immigration and Naturalization Service (IND), family reunification and family formation. The other questions concern: administrative law issues (decisions, subsidies, zoning plans etc), tax law and the law of legal persons (liabilities and powers of associations, foundations etc).
A lot of these questions are about tenancy law. The legal issues that fall under this category include leases, rent allowances, termination of the lease, nuisance, neighbor law and mortgage issues.
